There are very few people whose influence on rock music is so enormous that it can genuinely be described as epochal. Not so much genre-changing as genre-creating, Les Paul is one of these giants, and it would really be a disservice to him to say that his influence is restricted to rock music. All popular music is in his debt.

It was the very great privilege and honor of the Deep Woods Band to be able to make a pilgrimage to see Les Paul play at the Iridium Jazz Club, where he played weekly for the last 15 years of his life. When we say 'play,' we don't mean the fun kind of playing you might do on http://www.cheekybingo.com/or even the brawn against brawn playing of the Monday night games.
